Puddle of coolant on passenger side floor

Well, what an interesting thing to wake up to. About two nights ago I first smelled "the coolant smell" while I had the heater and the defroster running. This morning I get in my car and there is a nice puddle of coolant on the floor. I thought I read somewhere that this has something to do with my heater core. If this is true please let me know. I also have yet to flush the cooling system of the car since I have had it. Also, when I first got the car, the plumbing to the heater control valve had been diverted along with the lines going to the oil cooler. Would hooking them up incorrectly possibly have caused this problem.

thanks for any answers.

Hooking them up is a definate possibility. Could just be a leaky fitting though.

If it's your heater core itself, you will likely notice a bit of a green haze building up on the inside of your windows when you have the defroster on a lot. And you know what that means..

Oh. Heh. sorry.

It means your heater core is most likely cracked.

The good thing is that a new heater core is only ~ 20$

The bad this is - its gonna take awhile. Thanks for the heads up.

Peace
