Help Me stay cool.
I need some help, from you members. My car is a 88 GTA with the L98 350. The motor is new with about 2000 miles on it. At the time of the rebulid I had the rad flushed and checked for leaks, it works fine. I put a new rad cap on, and also I am running a 160 thermostate. If I let my car idle in the parking lot it will just keep getting hotter and hotter. On the highway it is fine but around town it runs very hot.
Any ideas from any of you would be great. Please email me thank you so much.

How hot? These things run at about 260 degrees idle anyways. The best idea I've run across is to get a duel fan setup. Have one fan dedicated to running 100% of the time and the other to be thermostated at 220.

Get the turbo T/A (grand national) cooling fan switch. Comes on around 208 degrees. GM part # is 3053190, but you can probably get it at local auto parts store cheaper. You can wire up a switch to turn the fans on manually. The connector to the switch in the pass side head grounds the relay to complete the circuit. You can run a wire inside car (or if you have factory wiring diagram find output from ecm) to a toggle switch. Run other side of toggle switch to ground. You can turn on fans with switch when ignition is hot.
