Installing Aftermarket temp gauge
Guys, please help. Where can I install the sending unit on my aftermarket temp gauge? the directions say to keep my stock sending unit in place so the computer stays happy. are there other plugs on my block/heads/manifold? which is easiest to reach on a 305 tpi? I'm gonna try to install it this weekend. thanks.

The computer has nothing to do with gauge/sender functionality. If you're ok with the factory gauge being dead, go ahread and remove the factory sender and install in its place.

Thanks. I think I found the factory sending unit today...near the #1 spark plug on the left head. I don't know what it looks like...is it shaped like a plug with a metal tip that flattens on the head and a clip attaches to it, sending the signal to the gauge? I guess if I unscrew it and get some coolant spill then I'm on the right track.

Correct, on the driver side cylinder head between the 1 and 3 cylinders. It has a single male spade terminal on it. Yes, coolant will spill out unless you drain some.
