The temp. guage works, and I'm trying to locate the coolant sensor at an auto parts store. It does nothing even when I jump the wires,even at the E.C.M

Cooling fan switch is in pass side cylinder head. Looks like the one in link above. With key on ground wire to switch, fan should come on. Stock switch doesn't come on until around 235 or something. Get an aftermarket lower temp switch to solve problem.

Another thing to consider is that if you are using the dash-mounted temperature guage to diagnose this "problem", your actual temperature could be considerably different that what that guage is displaying. You might not be anywhere near 220°F coolant temperature.
