Cooling an 88 V8.

I have an odd question, and I figured you guys would know if anyone did.

I have a motor that is out of an 88 G30 Van, 4blt main. It is in my 92 camaro, after i rebuilt it totally. Heres the question.

I have the entire front bracket serpentine setup off of a 92, and an edlebrock high flow reverse rotation water pump. Knowing this, does the bracket /pump setup properly cool the motor or is it pushing water through the block in the wrong direction? Would this cause cooling problems or is this setup correct for cooling the block? Does the reverse rotation style pump actually pump water through the vehicle backwards? I dont think it does, but I am not sure.

Any and all help on this subject is greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance.

Reverse rotation, as the serpentine pumps are set up, does not mean that the coolant flow itself is any different. All reverse rotation means is that the impeller rotates counter clockwise. Standard rotation, dubbed from the V-belt design, rotates the same direction as the crankshaft, or clockwise. That's all reverse rotation means. Either way, reverse rotation or no, water still enters from the 2 water jacket holes where the pump mounts up, from there, it makes its way through the heads and to the intake. As long as it is a Gen. I SBC, in which it is, that flow direction does not change.

You will be fine.

thats what I thought, so now im back to leaning that the two 12 inch electric fans that I have on the system are insufficient for cooling the motor in traffic. As Even with the be-cool radiator it still creeps up to 210-220 in summer city traffic. I think this is unacceptable with a 160 degree thermostat, and the be-cool radiator, the edlebrock high flow pump, etc. etc.

thanks.
