cooling fan stuck on

Hey just thought I would see if some one could tell me why my cooling fan would stay on when the engine is running? My wiring harness is from a 86 camaro with the 305...

The relay is new. For some reason the PCM is commanding it on. From the wiring diagram I have, the only input is the ECT sensor and the A/C switch. There are no codes set and the coolant temp is reading correctly.

Thanks for the help!

only reasons I can remember for the fan being on is the ECM seeing a problem (code, my code 33 IIRC turned the fan on all the time) or perhaps the AC switch.

Can't recall the specifics on the AC switch, but if you don't have it wired up or jumpered, the fan is either on all the time, or won't come on at all. I *believe* it will run all the time if the fan switch connector isn't jumpered.

what did you do to get your code 33 to go away?

I used my factory service manual and followed the troubleshooting flow chart for the code 33, which told me the MAF was bad.

Found a known good MAF for cheap (the wells one everyone recommended I couldn't find ANYWHERE, and I looked hard) and it certainly did cure the problem.
