Heater Core question
Well, lately my heater core has been losing a few drops of anti-freeze at night, but just on the outside.
Then the other day it puddled in my floorboard.
Me and my grandfather are looking at changing it this weekend (we changed the alternator today) because I am going on a road trip (a short one but still about a three hour drive) and don't want anything going wrong.
Anyways, on to my questions
1.) How hard is it to change one yourself?
2.) Should I just get someone to change it for me? (like a radiator shop etc.
3.) Are there any little tips you know that could help me if you answered yes to my first question?

I replaced mine myself. Wasn't to hard, just took some time. Heater core was only like $25 or something. I'm sure if you took to a shop the labor would be alot. I took the dashpad off, then the bolts that held on the top of the dash. Then stared on the passenger side on the dash were the heater core was and started removing everything I needed to get to it. There is a couple of screws and bolts that were hard to get to, but by pulling the dash back was able to get it out without taking everything apart. Took maybe 2 hours altogether.

Well, we got my new Heater Core in. No big deal, though it took about 4 hours. We did take our time and clean everything. We fought with the hoses for about 20 min. because they didn't want to let go. It took us a good bit to get the new heater core in because it was snagging on something and closing the defroster door (Don't know if that's what you'd call it
) but once we got it in everything went smoothly
