Broken waterpump?

Broken waterpump?

how can u tell you broke your waterpump i have coolent leaking from my car i changed the hoses and radiator but my temp goes all the way to from 0-260 without even going 1 mile? could it be my thermo is busted or the waterpump?

Are you losing coolant from behind the water pump? If so, it is most likely the pump. Pretty easy to replace.

You don't usually lose coolant when the thermostat fails. It just sticks closed and you have an overheating situation. The thermostat is easy to replace as well.

ok so if the car is just overheating with no leaking coolent and the radiator is new its probrobly the thermostat that needs to be replaced? can i just replace the thermo or do i have to change the housing to?

If you're not leaking anything, then it is probably the thermostat. Unless you break something, the housing should be fine.
