mECHANICAL TEMP GUAGE

Would headers make a manual temp guage show hotter then the engine is really running at. I was thinking that the line that goes from the enigne to the cab would be soaking in underhood header heat. If so by how much would this change my reading.

the only way i could see it reading higher would be if you had the temp gage tube touching against the header, other wise i doubt it would make any difference.

The guage is installed at the front of the intake next to the T stat and then the metel cord goes all the way back into the inside of the car.
