Putting in newer compressor, dryer, & orifice tube. Where do I start?
Okay, I got a good condition compressor from a 70k '91 Formula. I also got a brand new dryer and orifice tube.
I still have all the old stuff intact on my car, but there is nothing in the system. I put a screwdriver up to the dryer's (car tire looking valve things) and nothing came out. I know it all leaked out prior anyway, just didn't want to spend $50 for nothing, you know. So with that said, what do I need to do to get the new stuff installed and ready to refill?
-I guess I need new O-rings and oil, correct? And lube up everything. Where do I get these new o-rings at and how many do I get?
-People say to put oil in all the parts, at least the compressor. Where do I put the oil in at, and they said to rotate it to make sure it's all in there. How do I do that? With the pulley and just turn it I'm guessing?
-Let's say I get all the o-rings and oil and such, is there a specific order that I need to install things? Like compressor first, then dryer, then orifice tube then what?
PLEASE please let me know if there's something I need to do before I remove things. I don't want to spend $1000 to recharge/refill a system when it could cost less for something brand new.
