Heater Core Hose Valve Thingy

What the heck is that heater core hose vacuum valve for?

Do you need it? Can you just hook the hoses straight from the intake to the heater core to the radiator without any problems?

The one on the passenger's side valve cover with three (I think) hoses and a vacuum line coming out of it? I believe that's for the heater control -- reroutes hot coolant into the heater core on demand from the heater controls @ the dash.

Oh wow, they must have had some space issues with the HVAC in the dash.

SO basically you will have perma heat if you bypass that valve?

It will be ok of you bypass it.
I don't have A/C in my car so I can't tell you if it really heats up the car or not, but I believe my 86 Trans Am didn't have the bypass valve and that was fine.

I broke the one on my Formula when I was doing the TB bybass, so I just bypassed the bypass valve.
makes for a cleaner engine bay as well.

Now that I think about it, if you don't have the blower fan ON, it will obviously not push hot air into the cabin.

Now that I've removed the AIR tubes, that valve is bouncing all over the engine while driving. hehehe
