Engine oil coole

I have a Griffin alum. two row radiator to install along with B&M hi-tech trans cooler (with fan). My question is about the factory engine oil cooler that uses radiator fluid. Can the factory adaptor at the oil filter be removed and then screw on a filter? Better yet, can the factory adaptor be removed to add a after market adaptor for a air cooled engine oil cooler? Is the factory oil cooler worth the hassle of figuring out how to plumb coolant to it with a non stock radiator? If so, can a after market oil cooler adaptor be added to the factory oil cooler, then the filter screwed on below all that? Would that drag on the ground? Thanks for any help!

Yes, you can remove the factory oil cooler to run just a screw-on filter.

Yes, you can remove and add an aftermarket sandwich adapter for an air-to-air oil cooler.

The factory oil cooler is not plumbed to the radiator per se. The line joins the heater hose from the fender well before it enters the radiator. Here's a picture. You would have to add an inlet to the Griffin radiator for the 3/4" hose.
