wow is this normal

so i have finally replaced my water pump. but its still leaking!. IT seems to be coming from behind the harmonic balancer . i re took the new pump out to put some more gasket maker on it . But i did notice that there was cracking on the part where the pump goes on. there are little cracks on the round plate like section . i repeat the cracks are not on the pump they are on the actual engine block i think this is what is causing my leaking after installing the new pump. can someone please let me know how deep in sh...i am in

Are cracks in the engine block normal? I'd probably say no.

so this is something to be concerned about. i took off the water pump and put some more gasket sealer on it and it made the leaking stop a little.. but now its leaving small puddles compared to before. i want to light my car on fire

damn man you've got a cracked engine block and you're buying stereo equipment? i'd be throwing that cash at a decent crate 350 or 383 if i were you

its PROBABLY nothing that'll stop the car from being drivable, but its definitely not good. any pictures or more details?

its not leaking from the block. when you take the pump off , the piece that it goes onto (its like a circle) has a crack on it. But if it were to leak it wouldnt leak outside the block it would just go back into the water pump. thats why i asked if it were normal for that crack to be there.. Not to worried about it though
