need info for heater bypass
I want to bypass the heater core untill I get a chance to replace it. Either way the car is only a fair weather driver.
My question is does anyone know the direction of flow in/out from the heater core? I want to simply install an inline on/off valve to the line feeding the heater core. So which one is it? The one on the passenger side or the one towards during the drivers side?
Thanks

Serp or Vbelt?
On mine (VBelt) the line from the manifold is going to the heater core...
so
Pump > Block > Intake > Heater Core > Pump
on a serp, no idea

ummm.. if you have TPI with the oil cooler... you can't put a shut off valve, as far as I know.. cause it will stop the flow to the oil cooler? I could be wrong.. it's quite an interesting snake of cooling lines in my car.
What I did was bought an angle fitting at Canadian Tire (any pluming store should have it) and just looped the two hoses. its been like that for 3 years with no problems, besides no heat :P Mine's a summer car as well... no need for heat
