over heating

i dont know if i am the only one with this problem, but i have talked to my friends and none of them have heard of this problem. i will first say that the gauges that i have is for a 305, so i dont really know the temp is, but it shouldnt matter, but a 305 was originally in it. new engine, water pump and a put in a 160 thermostat to do with the cooling, i also have a chip so my fans turn on at 160 degrees. ok this is weird, when is start going faster and hold that speed then it starts getting hotter like at 75 or 80 mph, but when i let off and either start slowing down or when i get off the interstate and come to a complete stop, it starts cooling down then. the only thing i can think of is to give my radiator a flush since its never had one and to get a new cap since its the original one too. please help if anyone has answers or suggestions or have had this problem, thanks

yes, the one under the radiator, here is a pic of one, down right at the bottom, a pic posted by Vader
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...light=air+damn

some other info on overheating,
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...light=air+damn

it would best if you asked a mod to move this over to the cooling board.

do any of u know where i can buy an air damn. No i dont want to go to a junk yard and pull one off another ta, i would be willing to buy a brand new one that way i dont have to worry about cracks or other problems that u would have with a used one. i looked on this website and fbodymotorsports and still didnt find one, unless i just over looked it.

perhaps you make yourself sound more like a star wars fan then a third generation fan. I think you are on the wrong message board.

that was uncalled for, Rick made a suggestion.
there are a lot of people on this board who make stuff for their cars, a few have made their own custom front bumper covers, a guy who makes custom thirdgen speaker boxes, A/C delete heater boxes & the list goes on.
a little skill & ingenuity along with desire is all it takes.

took me less than 5 minutes to find this.

HAHAHAHA! Probably 90% of the 3rd gen owners out there would put any piece of crap they made on their car if it saved them a few dollars rather than buying new.

HA HA
I stay cool in 100+ heat index days with 2 scoops about 2.5 by 8 long(inches that is) with a 160 thermo I never get over 175 degrees. " how about them apples " from some pice of **** that I made just to save money and custom painted for about $40. JUST A FACT I also only have a 2 core radiator, and a 350 with ported 882 heads and shorty headers at about 8.9 to 1 compression. just a mild motor but before I would over heat and blow the cap!

sorry for that, if you took it as a flame or anything, sorry, it wasn't intended to be or sound like one.

Vader wasn't putting you down. he moved this thread over to this part of the board because as a mod where it was posted, its part of his job, he could have locked or deleted it.
this is one of the best car sites around with some really good Mods
but as with all sites, there are a few trolls around.

when you get the air damn done, lets us know if it solves your problem.
