I've been running this Proform for the now 4th year, no problems overheating, ever, since installation.
Alot of buddies run the Moroso belt drive electric water pump that uses a wipe motor and external bracket that mounts to the existing water pump bolts and just uses a small cog pulley system to drive it. Too many little issues with them to ever sell me to buy one, espeically after 4 years and no troubles with this one.

Correct me if I am wrong IHI but doesnt a standard water pump cool beter then an electric? Also 18boyds is your car a daily driver? I always thought you would run into problems with an electric water pump on a daily driven vehicle. IHI doesnt look like his car is a daily driver.

Its not daily driven in the aspect of driving to work, groceries...well, it's done that before, but it has/does get driven enough to qualify it as a street car.
Would I use an elelctric pump on a daily driven? Given the results of this pump/cooling system I have now and amount of time on it..yes I would. Anything electric has a life span to it, just like your electric fans, it's not if will they go bad, it's when. Same with the electric water pumps.
As far as a standard pump cooling better than an electric unit, dont know. With the proper cooling system they perform just fine, but our cars with the bottom breather design just dont cool the best as the older muscle car johnra that had air taken stright through the grill into the rad. Do some searches on this cooling board and you can see how bad this cooling issue is, mean while witht he new stuff i installed, no matter what the outside temp is, 180* is max and that's in town, hwy, or interstae driving. So which would you rahter have?

my car isnt a daily driver either but i do take it on some long rides. They all seem to flow about 35-37 gph . What do standard ones frow. And when i do the enw engine i plan to put a new aluminum rad and two puller fans on along with the electric pump .

the benefit i could see with going electric is that coolant is always flowing at a constant rate. mainly beneficial at lower rpms when we normally would have lower flow rates...
just my humble opinion. (i am still running a stock belt-driven)

I heard somewhere when crusing at 2000 to 2200 rpms the mechanical pump flows more then the electric. This may or may not be true. I am pritty sure a mechanical out flows a electric but I am sure thats at 3000 rpms and above so I guess if your not crusing at that it wouldnt mater.

Yeah, think about the rpm range your car is typically running at, 3K and below with OD and interstae driving. Even in town you may spike it to 4 or 5K, but it'll be consistantly below 3500 rpm.

My MINIMUM rpm on the hwy with my stuff is 3K, that is usually in town/local hwy driving. Out on the interstate to keep up with traffic I'm 3600.
If your cooling system is set-up right (like mine) over cooling is the problem, install a thermostat with some by-pass hole drilled in it and you'll be golden.
When i had this pump on my 355cid with the stock radiator/cap and street drove the thing daily I would be 180* consistantly and spikes of 200* during the hot summer months that would go back to 180* when I would start moving again, that with a 160* stat installed.

EDIT:: I used the calculator here on thirdgen to get that... then i did the same for a 2.73 at 60mph... - said i would be going at under 1500rpm.. thats a bunch of bull****.. lol, i was usually at 1950 and getting about 24mpg hwy... - unless my tach is off, but i doubt that
