cutting with stock T/A hood
ok, have any of you guys noticed that the hot air under the hood doesn't really have anywhere to go and your car is always running hot? Well it might be opertating at the proper temp but I still think it's way too hot under there. I want to make the vents functional. The front ones on the nose part, that could let air in and the vents near the fenders could be extractors. Has anyone else done this? Eventually I'm going to get the RA1 hood but for now, I want to make this thing cooler. Any thoughts/pics?

My vents go straight into the engine bay (stock). I can see straight through. Doesn't do much- if anything at all.

I thought about taking fiberglass, and glassing the underside of the hood, to make the vents help feed the air cleaner on my carb, but Im not sure if that would be enough air to feed it.
I was thinking of messing with the side vents on the hood, and see if those could be used as extractors, or is that what your talking about. I thought you ment the fender vents, but sense I dont have those, I dont know where the lead.
*edit*
=[ now I feel like a fool, I didnt notice the last post date.
But I did rethink the fiberglass thing. And instead use tin to make a second layer from the cowl area, to the air cleaner, and use metal screws to attach it to the underhood ribs, with foam tape, or something else to seal it to the hood, then flair it around the aircleaner.

I did the same thing when I painted my car. I cut out the front vents. You would think it would work, but when you take the vents out to cut them the rad support is there and it kinda blocks the air.
