My car ran 220-240* without the air dam, and 180* consistantly with the air dam. I hope that guides you in the right direction.

my 85 2.8 doesnt have an airdam either, and no holes indicating there ever being one... Runs cool, so I havnt bothered with it yet.

It has ac, but as of yet the compressor just cycles on and off very quickly, and doesnt get cold. I plan to convert it soon, once i can find somebody to suck out the r-12

The Air dam is a piece of plastic on the bottom or the Rad support under the car.. it creates a vacuum under the car as you travail and helps pull air thru the rad as U travail down the road.. And yes it is easy to install.. just 6 self tapper bolts..

it is suppose to do that when you need a recharge.it does that so it doesn't burn out your compresor.i just put a pin in mine to get rid of the r-12 and fill with 134.had it over 3 years without any problems

if anyone blows their radiator out, i suggest spending the 250 dollars for the summit brand aluminum radiator. yeah its two times more expensive than an aftermarket radiator, but it doesnt have the plastic side tanks. i have noticed a dramatic difference in cooling with the radiator. just my two cents...
