Is this my Air Dam? How do I install it?

I found this in my garage but I'm not sure what it is. I think it's the original air dam. If it is can some explain how to install it?

.

It looks to me to be the piece that is on the underside of the hatch on the end. (attached to the hatch, underneath)
The slot is where the metal loop sits for the hatch locking mechanism and the circle hole is where the sensor hits for the dummy light in the dash that lets you know the hatch is open.

I believe that is what it is....

If its not made of black hard rubber like material its not the air dam.

Yep that would be the hatch cover. TA air dams go from driver to passenger side of car with a curve to it. From wheel to wheel and under rad support.
