To hot to drive

Does anyone know where i can get a gasket for the timing cover of a 87 rs. the problem is that i have a leak and the guys at the shop that i took it to said it would be 190+parts any advise with this would help. really need this fixed i just bought the car

Timing cover gasket: most auto parts stores should stock the one you need. However, there are no coolant ports behind the timing cover gasket, so a leak there would not cause the engine to run hot, just lose some oil.

The water pump gaskets would be the closest source of coolant. Or fluid leaking down the front from the thermostat housing could be another source. The water pump itself could be bad and be leaking coolant out the weep hole.

Need more specifics.
