siezed compressor

Hey, my Z28 wasnt driven this year, tho it had to be moved from storage ..

The ac never worked but now, the compressor siezed and if the car is started, smoke comes out pretty quickly.

Being a serpentine setup .. if it snaps, the engine is toast I assume..

Id like to remove the system.

Does anyone have a clear picture of an engine that has been bypassed from ac ?

Ive seen some in the past but a search didnt help much

thanks

the engine is only toast if the car get too hot. The only thing that will happen is the waterpump will stop pumping and the alt. will stop working. Of course the smog pump if installed will stop as well. But the engine will be fine.

but if the belt snaps, wont the pistons hit the valves being that there isnt any connection between both ?

Anyhow, whats the easiest way to remove the ac and get the car running ?

I think you are confusing the f-body accessory drive belt with the timing belt found on some sub-standard cars. You should probably remove the belt to confirm what pulley is locked up before you do anything drastic to your a/c system. Without the belt its probably safe to start and run the engine for a few minutes before it starts to heat up.
