Water temp gauge

Water temp gauge

Hi everyone, just a quick question.

How do I get a water temp reading? When I finished the swap, I still have some gauges not hooked up. One of them is the stock water temp gauge. I don't know where it goes, as I don't see a provision for it anywhere on the radiator/waterneck/manifold.

Can someone help me out? Or would I need an aftermarket one?

Even then, where would I connect that to? lol...

Factory put it in the hole in the driver side cylinder head, between the 1 and 3 holes.

Oh... does it stick out a bit?

Hmmm... odd I don't see how that connects to any wiring of sorts... maybe I gotta look it over. The block is an 80 350... possibly could be different I guess...

Just a little sensor that screws into the hole in the side of the cylinder head, not the block. Simple male/female spade connector on the sensor itself.

Looks pretty much like this:
