i was thinking about developing the following, any input welcomed..

gauge pod style fan control, ability to set the turn on/turn off temps of two fans, manual override on/off, temp display, fan status. outputs to relay of your choice. input from CTS under TB, so no need to add additional sensor (theretically).

CSI makes one with one channel already.
I had one in my 86 Trans Am a few years back to control my fans (both wired as one).

The part number on summit page is CSI-1225.

One question - does it turn on above that temp AND off below that same temp? The instructions only stated that it turns on at the set temp, they didnt mention when it turns off.

Did it work well controlling both your fans? Seems like they might cycle fairly rapidly if the on/off temp is the same.

On your 86, is there a spot between #6 and #8 to plug in the sender that is included?

I can't remeber if you set off temp or not. I think it was automatically set to 10* cooler than the on temp, so if you set the on temp to 180 it automatically turned off at 170.
I've still got the box and instructions in the garage somewhere. and my car didn't run all that long with it, engine spun some bearings after running for a few weeks.

I think there was a hole on the pass side head to use since the secondary fan switch is on the pass side head either between 2 & 4 or 4 & 6.

 

I emailed CSR tech support. This is the answer I got:

Same Temp.Maybe 1 degree lower

Dunno if I like that... seems like it would cycle fairly often that way.. unless it takes some time to cool it down anyhow...

Is that how stock is designed??

 

Stock we have an on and off setting.

what program is that and what does it cost?? just curious it looks pretty dummie proof does it graph 3d charts and everything also?? i have a $61 ecm so it would be much diff. but im sure they have an .xdf or somethin for mine also. thanks

the program is called Tunercat and is less than $100 with the definition file for your TBI ECM.
It does 3D graphs as well.
