overheating and oil pressure dropping

I keep having a problem with my 88 t/a overheating and my oil pressure also drops when it happens. I am losing my antifreeze somewhere but i cant find where. Im thinking its a head gasket but my oil is not milky with antifreeze. I've replaced my thermostat, heater control valve, and my radiator cap but ive had no luck. Could my water pump make my oil pressure drop? I need help here because this has been annoying.

just a guess, but hot oil is thinner and therefore if the oil is really hot, the pressure is lower.

How long does it take for it to heat up above 220? when was the last time the radiator was flushed? To see if the head gaskets are your problem do a compression test on all 8 cylinders and let the gauge sit for a few seconds and watch to see if the pressure bleeds off. Also remove you thermostat again and see if your finger goes into the head. Did you just buy the car from someone? Also is the air dam still under the car?

Answer these questions and well take it from there.

I dont know how long it has been since it has been flushed so maybe thats all i need to do to fix the problem. I bought the car almost 2 yrs ago now so i know i havent had it flushed since i bought it. Plus the air dam is still under the car i checked that recently. Its wierd though because the car will be fine and then all of a sudden out of the blue it just over heats. sometimes i go two wks or more without a problem then it just does it. ITs almost winter so im just going to put it up on blocks for now and try fixing it before next yr. thanks for the help
