i can only get my fans to turn on i jump the fans at the relays so i know my fans work so it must be the relays pleas help thanks

Could be. Could also be that the switch side of the relays isnt being activated. Could be a faulty coolant temp switch. Make sure that the control side of the circuit is operating properly. Do the fans turn on when you have the ac on?

what wire is that and can i test that with a test light.ill turn on the ac and see if that works thanks

It's not a matter of testing a wire. At the set temperature, the fan switch grounds out the relay. Try unplugging the wire at the fan switch (passenger side cylinder head, between the 6 and 8 cylinders). The primary fan should turn on (assuming you have a dual fan setup).

The A/C circuitry controls the second fan.

grouned the fan wire and the relay just clicked.let the car get up to temp and turned on the ac and nothing so it must be the relays

Since the relay is clicking, don't bother replacing it so soon.

Locate the fan relay and pull the black/red (pink) wire from it. This is the wire that powers the fan once the relay is switched. Give this a 12v source and see if the fan comes on.

heres the deal i can turn the fans on if i jump the blk\pnk to the brown wire but i have no power coming from the orange wire and i though that was hot at all times iv checked the grounds and there good so why no power from the orange wire

my + cable runs like this one cable to the starter and one to the alt the one that gois to the alt has two fusible links one is black and one is orange no power at the orange one tha is hot all the time.do you think gm still has this cable if not were do i get it thanks

I burned my fusible link up when my fan died, I just put a fuse in it's place. You can buy replacement fusible link wire from Autozone though.

id like to just get a new +cable from gm ill give them a call on monday to see if they still can get it
