Removed Heater, What to do with Heater Hose

Ok awhile ago I completely removed the heater in my car, I never had A/C to begin with and I bipassed the TB. After taking out the heater I routed the small 3/4" or 5/8" hose from the intake manifold to the heater hose port on the radiator. Do I need this hose or can I plug the hole on the manifold and the radiator and just get rid of the hose? Just curious if it serves any other purpose in the cooling system.

I have tbi but i'm only running an upper and lower hose. There car gets to 220 and then to 160. It seems fine. I have had it like this for a while and have had no overheating problems.
