Fan not working...where to start looking?

Well the cooling fan on my '90 Camaro RS is not turning on. I was wondering where is a good place to start looking for problems? I was planning on switching out the relay, but I was wondering if there are any other places check before I go to the fan switch route? Thanks.

I would start with the fan motor itself. Unplug the connector to the fan motor, I used alligator clips to connect to the connectors, so ground the ground lead to the frame and put 12 volts to the other to make sure the fan motor isn't bad. I just replaced one of my fan motors. Then check the fuses & wiring. If these check out, then you can start looking at the Relays & CTS.

For the fan switch, try grounding the wire while key on - that should make fan run - if it does, then you need the switch. I hate the switch - never had one work for longer than 3 months. On my 1992 carb car I went to a seperate fan controller with the probe that sticks between the radiator fins - no problems since. On my 1990 TBI stocker, I just leave the a/c switch on constantly, as this makes the fan run, and my a/c is dead anyways.
