NEED HELP...TEMP SENSOR!!!

ok i try and explain exactly what has been done. I bought a hypertech fan switch(on at 200 off at 185), i located the stock one just above the starter solenoid between the 2 rear plugs. changed the switch out, However, the wire that went to the stock switch did NOT look like the connector that hypertech gave me. So i just figured it was the wrong type of connector, cut the BLACK wire and spliced the 2 wires together with the NEW connector that hypertech provided. Started the car up...and now my temp guage is not reading anything and ive let the car run for about 25 mins or so and neither fans are coming on. So after that i figured because the connector was wrong that must not be the fan switch...it must be something else. So i put the stock one back in and spliced the stock connector back on it....soiderd(sp?) it up...made sure of my connections and pluged it back into the stock switch. I still have the same problem. Nothing reading on the temp guage. Now i will say this, on the stock connector there is a circle plastic peice and inside is the PIN that goes into the stock switch....but around the circle peice there is a connector that goes all the way around it which SNAPS onto the switch.....when i took the stock one out...that part fell apart in my hands...not the circular part with the pin...but the snap on part. Its in the stock switch now nice and tight......but i still have the same problem. Could i have popped a relay?.....or possibly popped the PCM???? any help owuld be great guys! Thanks

That is weird. I did the same thinbg when changing mine - The old plug cracked apart and I just cut the wire and spliced in the hypertech wire and now mine works fine. Maybe somehow it got shorted out while you were working onm it. Check your fuses and see it might be something simple like that.

Maybe you got the knock sensor instead. There are two sensors on pass side, the knock sensor, and fan switch. They both have the same connector on them. One is in the block, one is in the head (I don't remember which is which). Did coolant spill all over you when you swapped? if not, bet you got the knock sensor instead.
