Temp. Removing AC Condenser

My '92 TA has some crust in the core support area that I want to deal with right away. I pulled the radiator and fans today, and am now staring at the AC condenser. Unfortuntaley, it looks to me like in order to get the condenser out of the way, I'll have to disconnect the hard lines, which will require me to salvage the freon/empty the system.

Is this accurate? Has anyone been able to move the condenser out of the way enough to access the bottom of the core support without fully disconnecting the condenser.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions.
