Overheating With AC On

ok so i notice my car gets really hot when the ac is on. and if i turn the heater on the engine runs at about 180-190 with a new brass metal tank radiator and a new 160 thermastat. coolant flush with a bottle of purple ice. and the fan is on when car is started. do you guys know why it get real hot fast when the ac is on?
Thanks Martin

Do you have a single or dual fan setup?
I f you have a dual fan setup make sure the second fan comes on with the AC.

I have the same problem too I also have a single fan. I have repaced my radiator heater core tstat hoses coolant basically anything coolant related. I used a 50/50 mix with water wetter and that has not helped. It only heats up when the AC is on otherwise i run at 180 all day. When i say heat up it will hit 260 with the fan on.

wow i jsut fixed the same problem! first i started with with the hoses, and new belt. then i drained and flushed the the system out until there was crystal clear water coming out when i drained it. that didnt help at all so i figured my radiator was jsut clogged up so i bought a new one. that helped a bit but it still got a bit hot..a hair over 230...so then i realized that i didnt have airdam on it because it was dragging when i first bought the car..so i took a trip down to the local junk yard and got one. had to bend it back into shape but hey for 5 bucks couldnt beat it...slapped that thing on wne tfor a cruise with the a/c on and perfect!! in city traffic 220, on the highway...180-190 and it was 107 degrees here in vegas today!!

well i have the air dam there. my engine has been rebuild bored and has mild cam. but when i turn on the ac the temp starts climbing in seconds but when i turn the heater on it starts cooling down. but i cant be driving with heater on hear in arizona. the heats is hot. but im going to try a dual fan setup and see if it works. and like i said in other threads my firebird runs at 190 in traffic and 180 on highway. my fan doesnt kick on unless it reaches about 220 and with a 160 thermastat. and my camaro the fan kicks in as soon as the car is started with a 160 thermastat and about of purple ice which is know to drop about 30 degrees and my car still get hot. i just cant figure out the problem.

BE COOL

When your AC is on the condenser in front of the radiator heats and that heat is
blown across your rad. hence your water temp increases. I see you’re in Az.
(brutal). If you have verified all your components are at factory spec. and you
still overheat replace your rad with one double the thickness.
Happy Racing!

u may think im carzy but...

Do you still have your stock chin spoiler that sits right under the radiator, because on my freinds GTA we took it off and as soon as we took it off and started driving the car started to over heat, we put it back on and it was ok, this also happend on a firends G-body
