stock radiator sizes?

Son has an 86 Z28. I built him a nice 350 / carb to replace the 305 that came stock. Trouble is the thing heats up too hot to run unless you have the thermostatout of it. The engine was hot-tanked and cleaned and he used a new waterpump and radiator. Question is- did camaros come with different sizes of radiators? Can I go back to autozone or whatever and buy a larger radiator to fix this problem?

305/350 radiator is the same.

Do you still have the air deflector on underneath? Electric fans or mechanical?

dual fans and he has them running all the time. As far as I know the deflector is in place.

Air deflectors make a huge difference in the amount of air hitting the radiator.
