low pressure port question(NOOB Q)
ok.. my r12 has been retrofitted recently
and I see the blue cap for low pressure port.
one day I was just wondering around with my car
and took the port cap off, and put back in, and i screwed it in really tight.
now tightening this blue cap(for low pressure port),
did this cause the tip of port to be in open position?
should i have NOT turned it too strong?
caz i think my refrigiant already ran out(only been a month)
and i think it was leaking from there.
my noob simple question is:
will tighetning the low pressure port cap too hard
possibly cause refrigiant leak from there?

another dumb question would be..
if my ac clutch isnt engaging,
whats the possible cause besides empty refrigiant?
and if its just empty, will it not turn the fan on as well?
thanks.

Right. The fan is tripped by a sensor on the high side of the system. IF the pressure is not high enough, no fan.
What are your pressure readings on the low side?

I dont have a pressure reader,
but so ur answer would be yes
the cap to low/high pressure port should be
not too tightened right?
becaz I have a feeling i tightened those 2 too much myself
and caused myself refrigiant leak and i feel so dumb..

The pressure on the high side will only BECOME high enough, even with full refridgerant, to trip the sensor with the fan running
I thought you said that you bought a pressure tester in yout orhter thread?

You were right man... You can cause a leak by tightening too much! I just charged mine... after everything was off, I was listening for any hissing, to be on teh safe side.... MY cap was hissing a bit! loosened it off a little and the leak stopped
