cooling vs. HP

I tried the search function and couldnt find exactly what I needed. So heres my question...

I currently have a 383 stroker thats pushing 500 HP without nitrous (not hooked up yet) and I am running on a stock (less than 3K miles) radiator. I also have an automatic trans.

So am I going to kill the cooling system by using a stock radiator? I've only put about 150 miles on it so far and have driven the car slower than my grandmother, and done proper break in.

Its mainly a street car, but it will see a few passes before the year is up.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Well how is it?

Temps should be in the 170-220 range. Use an external/mechanical gauge. Stock gauge sucks.

Cant help a non-existant problem.

temps are fine (hooked up a temporary cheap Sunpro gauge)

I just wanted to know if it was going to hurt my cooling system after time for having a stock radiator

If your system is working you will be fine. That stock radiator will cool some of those beast motors out there

Have fun
