Fan doesn't come on at all

Well a coulpe weeks ago, i was having a problem with my fan staying on.I switched the relay and it was running fine again. The fan switch wire that activates the fan to turn on when the engine got to a certain temp was melted from the headers so i just turned on the fan using the a/c.Well the other night it stopped working when the a/c was turned on so i changed out the fan motor and it still won't work.Does anyone kno what else this could be?

The fan is controlled by a relay on the firewall.
Is the fan switch wire green/white in color? Find it on the relay and ground it (with key on). If the fan comes on, the wire probably melted somewhere else now and you'd need to replace the wire (to the temp switch and the A/C switch too).

You need to check if the fan motor is getting power when its supposed to be turning on, that will tell you if the problem is the fan itself or the electronics controlling the fan. If I read this correctly the connector for the fan switch (sensor looking thing on pass side of the block by cylinder 6) melted and was not replaced. Happens quite often, happened to me too. That connector needs to be connected if you want the fan to be controlled by that fan switch. I would buy a new connector (yes they do sell em), re-wire it up, and then put on a heat protector sleeve meant for spark plug wires around the wire for the fan switch (so it dosnt melt again).

Are you running dual fans? Or single fan?

It's single fan.And it's been disconnected for a while.I just turn on the a/c when the car starts gettin hot.I bought a switch to hook up to it.So from what i hear i have to tap into the green wire w/white stip and connect it to my switch.I'm gonna try that and see what happens.I'm also gonna try what bigbabylou said and see if it comes on.thanks for ya'lls help

CrazyHawaiian where'd you find that sensor? Is the wire going to it some kind of special wire or just normal 16 ga. or whatever that I can splice a new piece right in where it melted?
