Jet Fan Switch
I'm interested in getting one of these. I got my '92 Z28 last week, and I had to drive it around 100 miles to get it home. Whenever I was on the highway it stayed pretty cool, usually around 190 or so, but when I would drive through towns where I had to drive slower it would heat up pretty quick. It even got up towards the red zone, but it cooled down a little after a few seconds.
I've been driving it around town some during the week and I noticed that after about 8-10 minutes of driving it starts heating up. Never at the red zone, but probably between the 220 and 260. It'll cool down once it reaches that area, but it's not long before it gets back there again. I'm not really comfortable with it getting this hot. I have the 82-2002 Camaro year one catalog and I saw the Jet fan switch where you can control when the fan kicks on. Will this help me out with my problem? Also, are they easy to install? Can I keep the stock stat, or do I have to change that also? I had an '87 Camaro that overheated on me twice, and I don't want to have to go through that again!
Thanks guys....

It's just my experience, but I never got any of these fan switches to work very well. I tried GM, I tried el cheapo's, and I tried the expensive ones - they all went bad after a few months. I switched to a seperate fan controller, with the probe that sticks in the radiator fins, and it works great - it's adjustable, has provisions for fan always on and always off, and was a breeze to wire, for $70. i bought one of those jet fan switches also for around $40, it worked great in the summer, but i didnt let my engine get warm in the winter, pretty sure it was the 195 degree one. but bought one from midwest corvette for $12.95, works great both winter and summer, no problems and no switches!
