HELP.. on installing this thing
I bought the kit, from
1984-91 Low Temperature Electric Cooling Fan Switch - Corvette Parts & Accessories by Mid America Motorworks, 800-500-1500
part # 611-171.
ofcourse this thing is made for corvette.. but i read before that it works good..
I have: 91 RS, v6 engine.
I already know where the cooling fan relay is,
and I know where the temp sensor thing is too.(the one threaded to the head)
but.. this thing is confusing the **** outta me
caz I dunno where to put what and whats hooked to what

any help is appreciated on ANY tips or instruction.. the manual thing doesnt make sense

screw it into the head, plug in your factory connector onto the sensor and you're done. If the factory connector won't work for whatever reason then post back.

It looks like a simple fan switch to me - but I don't know anything about the v6's. On a v8, this switch is located on the pass side head, and that part you ordered looks like a simple replacement, except it has an extra wire that you can locate in the cabin for a manual on switch.
Good luck - I never got any of these fan switches to work on my v8's, not even the expensive (like Hypertech) ones. I gave up and got a seperate fan controller with the probe that you stick between the fins of the radiator, and it works like it should.

mine is an automatic switch, which will turn the fan on at 200
and off at 185.
I understand screw off the current thermal switch thing(the gold one on pic)
and put that in.
factory wire will not fit the switch thing,
so I guess i have to wire it up somehow to the relay?
but i donno how and dont want to touch them until I know.. thanks for the help though.
