making a camaro not a bottom-feeder
im currently working to keep as much air from under my camaro as possible. it would help alof if the car didnt REQUIRE air to go under it, which is a stupid idea anyway. if i opened up the entire front grill area, removing or replacing all the braces and everything, would enough air get to the engine to prevent overheating w/o the spoiler underneat? or would additional ventalation be required? what about with aftermarket fans?

why can't you run the airdam underneath? and camaros aren't just bottom feeders they also take air from the grill area, now TAs are just bottom feeders.

I'm curious to know why you blocked off below the radiator. I understand wanting to wall off the top and sides of the radiator.

1). Converted to a LS motor series, ran the car at Fontana and incurred heat build up after the second stint.
The car went into an auto dump mode after hitting hi water temp.
Serious cars are front feeders for air, and I installed an oil cooler inside as well capable of handling BTU's for 450 HP.
2). Now that it's a front feeder, I no longer have to worry about feeder air to lower air dam so I can drop the front lip to the track surface.
I still have two 14 inch high cfm fans with a shroud for the street for cycling when there is no air.

Hi Tibo, 2 basic reasons....

The car went into an auto dump mode after hitting hi water temp.

I'll have the entire grill area opened and almost totally unobtrused, save for the lower tube of the bumper. If I could just "plate off" the entire area between the radiator and ground effect/spoiler, well that would be nice and easy.
