do you guys recommend ussing silicone with the thermostate gasket or no silicone.... i been doin some research and some people say diffirent things....
they say with using silicone you cant tighten it back up because it spits...

If done correctly, Permatex Ultra black silicone and a
gasket is virtually bulletproof.
Secret is to lay a consistent bead and lay the gasket
down with thermostat and install housing, do not tighten
bolts right away.. only snug them, after the silicone cures
for a few hours, then torque the housing.
Never leaks for me, and looks great, cant see any silicone!

What about an O-Ring deisng waterneck. No need for gaskets or silicone.

Oh and sorry. I think a gasket might still be needed but the whole should I use silcone might not be needed do to the o-ring design.
