Cooling Shroud

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for information about where I might be able to get a new cooling shroud. I'm swapping the stupid little 2.8L out of my '84 Camaro for a 350 and everyone's been telling me 'd00d, you gots ta put a new shroud in thar' so I was wondering where I could get a new one. I know I can probably get one out of a wrecking yard for like $5 but I was just curious what they cost new.

Thanks,

Tony

I couldn't find one at the wreckers for the life of me, and I desperately need the bottom half, mine is trashed.
I'm just tagging on in case someone has an idea...

dc- Have you considered going to electric fans? They're all over the yards and an easy swap.

Sonix-Seriously need the bottom half? Got one I took out of my LG4 last month. Top piece was broken but bottom is OK. Could be yours for cost of shipping.

Thanks for the advice. I may very well do that.

However, I'm planning to not use any kind of computer with this swap. Are they a standalone system or do they plug into the ECU?

Stand alone. Did your car originally come with one?

No, it didn't. My current fan is belt-driven. Do the electric ones gove you extra room or do they just take the burden of sucking the air through the radiator off of the engine?

In my experience, more room. less noise. better performance. plus it's cooler. pun intended.

Yes, I need the bottom half. The brackets that hold the shroud against the body are broken off so it just flops around. Very annoying. Yours still has those plastic clips and holds to the body ok? Then i'm game.

Box it up and let me know what shipping is. We can take this to PM.
