Transmission Cooling Line Thread Size

I am going to buy a direct replacement radiator for my 88 V6. However, I would like to bypass the transmission cooling tank on the radiator and hook up a transmission cooler. In the attached PDF for the radiator it says the threads for the cooler inlets are 2 3/8 x 18 5/8. What does that mean? If it had one set of numbers I would understand the number of threads per inch and the diameter of the fitting. I'd like to get some fittings on the end of the cooler lines so I can run hose to the cooler. Anyone have any thoughts on the thread size they give?

They're talking about the tanks, not the transmission cooler fittings. If it's a direct replacement, the transmission lines will be 5/16" inverted flare.

So if the stock cooling lines are 5/16" inverted flare, can I get a AN fitting that will connect to it? I am trying to make my own hoses with AN fittings to connect to a transmission cooler with 1/2" NPT female threads. I am new to using AN fittings and such. I figure I can use a -8AN fitting for the 1/2" NPT threads but I have no clue what AN fitting to use on the 5/16" end. Can anyone school me on AN fittings or where to learn more?

IIRC, an Aeroquip FCM-2111 will adapt a 5/16 inverted flare with 1/2-20 threads to a -06 fitting.

On TCI transmissions website http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Tech...r_fittings.asp they say the cooler fittings are 1/4" pipe. Is the pipe 1/4" and the fitting that threads into the radiator 5/16"? I want to make sure I get the right fittings before I mount up this cooler.

The fittings on both the radiator and on the stock transmission are 5/16 I.F.

TCI probably removes the adapters from the case on their transmissions and just leaves 1/4" NPT in the aluminum.
