relocated coolant res.

well i was doing some other work on my car on the coolant system so i thought i would get rid of my old ugly brown coolant reservoir. i got this universal res. from autozone for like $10 but i couldn't mount it anywhere so i made a battery tray with a tall side so i could mount it on there

nah, i don't really like the look of that huge bottle sitting on the wheel well. and for $10 i don't see any better possibility. the old bottle was disgusting and filled with rust, a previous owner somehow dropped beer bottle caps into it. it wasn't pretty to say the least.

Hope ya don't need to get a jump start anytime soon.
I'm going with the 4th gen style which relocates to underneath the battery. It's black and all you end up seeing is the filler tube.

Re: relocated coolant res.

I know what you mean about a cleaner look. I got a resovoir tank from a minivan (long and skinny) at the bone yard. I plan to put it under plate where the hood latch is. I need to find a way to make a hole to have easy access to fill the bottle before I can install it...

i had thought about putting the bottle under that pan where the hood latch is but i didn't want to have to put a hole in the sheet metal. and i can easily get to the positive terminal on the battery and i can put the negative anywhere else.

Re: relocated coolant res.

I like it, and is now probably going to be the way I do mine. My pcm will be where the coolant resivoir was, so I'll be putting my coolant tank just forward of that. Now I need to get a mount set up, as my battery is on the driver's side.
