The other day in michigan we had some 90 degree weather and my Trans Am reached 220 despite the fact that my cooling system is all brand new and my air dam is in place. I decided to get some water wetter but napa did not have any and the sales person said to try royal purples purple ice. I got a bottle of it and it did drop my temp down 20 degree's...great product IMO. Now I need my cowl hood to help keep under hood temps down...also I am running hooker 2055's and they are ceramic coated but they still seem to raise my under hood temp so I am thinking about wrapping them with some header tape?

 

I've read that wrapping headers with thermal tape works well, but not in areas that have high humidity. The humidity will eat the headers from the inside with the tape on the headers. The temperature stays inside the headers and cooks the water instead of pushing everything down and out. Just what I've read/seen. Search around here and you might see the same thing.

 

What you said about the headers is true, but he mentioned his headers were ceramic coated, no exposed metal...

As for 220 degrees, that's the factory temp that the fans usually turn on...
