Electric Fans/ Air Condition

91 Z28 350TPI

When is the Passenger-side fan supposed to come on? It never turns.

Driver Side is Working fine. Starts to run at about 220 degrees...but only drivers side.
Should'nt there be at least one fan going on when you turn on A/C?

Im a car mechanic myself and I will check the problem in the next days...but I need some info about how the fans are supposed to work before I start searching

thanks and greetings from Switzerland!

Re: Electric Fans/ Air Condition

If you're low on A/C refrigerant, you won't develop enough pressure to turn on the 2nd fan.

When I had the stock fan switch and low on A/C refrigerant, it would never turn on the 2nd fan. Wouldn't get the coolant hot enough or enough A/C pressure. I used to wonder if it even worked.

Went to a 200/185° fan switch and fixed the A/C. Works with both now.

Re: Electric Fans/ Air Condition

the stickies do not work at the moment ? ?

drivers side fan comes on when I turn on A/C (wich is freshly filled)...and it starts to run when I hit 220 degrees...

checkes both relays today..they are ok...however...passenger side fan doesnt turn...but it would work...I connected it to the battery and it turned.

Under wich circumstances will the second fan on the passenger side be activated? and by what will it be activated?

Cooling fan specs

235°F coolant temp (monitored by the fan switch in your passenger cylinder head between #6 and #8 spark plug)
or
A/C high pressure at 233 psi or higher.

If that link doesn't work, delete the first part of the address up to the 2nd http part.
