has any one tried this dual fan set up?

I have 88 camaro 350 tbi w/single fan set up. I live in new orleans I have that same ol a/c on makes high temp about 220 from 160 w/o a/c on. I will be installing a 16' puller fan w/3000 cfm in stock location and plan to put a 16' pusher fan w/2100 cfm in front the condenser controled by toggle. I figure it would basicly move 5100 cfm. That's more than any dual fan setup. And I only spent 175.00 for both fans. has anyone tried this or done this ?

It doesn't work like that.

What doesn't work like that? A pusher fan would bring in more fresh for when your in stop and go traffic. That's the only time the temp rises.

I'm not an expert on this subject, but I think what he means by "it doesn't work like that" is that you wouldn't get the both fans combined, you'd only get the 3000cfm(and possibly(not sure) but the 2100cfm fan might slow the 3000cfm fan down making a total of less than 3000)...

Maybe if you could mount the fans side by side, you might be doing some good but I don't think you'd get anywhere by putting one fan on one side of the radiator and the another on the other side of the radiator.

The pusher might be good for stop and go traffic, but might not be good for the highway.

Like I said I don't know too much on the subject, so those statements might not be correct. Maybe someone else could step in.

i agree, its about the cfm in the fan area not combined. its like running 2 50psi pumps inline the end pressure wont be 100psi it'll be 50.and its more restriction in volume.

Re: has any one tried this dual fan set up?

he said infront of the condenser, not the radiator..... i have overheating problems and with an aftermarket 3000cfm primary fan not making a difference, i put the stock primary fan back and MOVED the aftermarket fan infront of the condenser on the primary fan side.... This was done because the car only overheats with AC on during stop and go traffic in 93+ degree heat with heat index over 100.... I was assuming this might help keep the condenser cooler and thus keeping the other 2 fans keeping the radiator cooler... who knows.. still havent tested yet the change yet.... i also added water wetter to new radiator/water mix.... we'll see if any better.... better since it was hell moving all these parts!
