A/c Blower???

My A/C's cooool but the blower motors weak. I can barely feel air on my face if i do....
Is my fan motor burning up??
Is there an "high output" fan motor??
Is there a "high flow" fan blade??
I'd need good A/C for my daily driver when I get to Florida...badly...
Thanks in Advance

Re: A/c Blower???

I have a 85 T/A and had the same problem. I found that some moron had replaced the heater core at some point and broke the heater box in half and never secured the duct work, causing all the air to blow under the dash. I spent the whole day repairing the heater box and connecting the ducts. The drivers side vent was missing every screw and half of them were missing on everything else. Follow a Haynes manual to get to the heater box by removing the dash. It sounds difficult but it is not to bad at all. Treat the plastic parts very carefully. I wish the blower was stronger too. But it is a big improvement from what I had.

The blower motor may be 20+ years old and has turned thousands of revolutions. Age may have simply slowed it down. I replaced mine with a new motor, and while it's much improved, it'll never blow like my wife's luxo-barge.

James,

Thanks, I think that is what I will do. I will also switch over to dual fan setup on the radiator.

While I agree with that it being 20+ years old and be improved on replacing.... I want the luxo-barge blow.... That almost didn't sound right but you get the idea

Re: A/c Blower???

The fan in my car was getting weak, so last weekend I replaced it. The motor was $17 at Advance Auto. It took about 20 minutes to swap it in. Huge difference, the A/C is great now. The fan blows really hard now.
