Help new owner, new problems

ok im buying an 89 rs in a few days and ive looked at this car ran it up and down with a fine toothed comb, runs strong, bodys straight etc, he said he basicly overhauled the engine 70%, (so he worked on it) and he said one day it ran hot and started dumping coolant, he turned the ac to hot and it cooled down and stopped dumping coolant, he confused me but he said that the temp sensor for the ac has to be replaced? not the reg thermostat but i guess theres one for ac? i dunno, i went form a big 81 silverado with a lift and no Ac, to a honda del sol, and now this, but i just need to know how much that sensor is and how hard it is to replace

Thanks in advance

Re: Help new owner, new problems

If i read that right, it sounds like the fan is not working. you need a new fan switch. Turning the ac on makes the fan turn on thats why it cooled down. Its easy to replace and cheap, just make sure your engine is cooled down when you replace it.
