Coolant temp vs. oil temp
I recently put in a oil temp guage and now have a couple questions. Is it normal to have an oil temp of 240, and the stock coolant guage is telling me the engine temp is between the 100 mark and the 220. I dont think that the oil temp should be that high

Re: Coolant temp vs. oil temp
That sounds about right...
The oil gets heat put into it from several sources (bearing friction, or actually viscosity which is a kind of friction; bottom of the pistons; ropcker ***** which is HUGE) and no way for the heat to get out except for splashing up against the water-jacketed places on the inside of the block.
It's normal for it to run anywhere from 30 to 60 degrees hotter than the coolant.
Roller rockers ALONE will bring the oil temp down by as much as 15°.
Your oil temp is basically just about normal. Nothing unusual, nothing to worry about at all.
