stock electic fan

i want to swap the stock electric fan from my 86 camaro sport coupe over to my 86 monte carlo ss. i read some where the camaro fan brackets will swap over fine, but how is the stock camaro electric fan turned on? i know if i turn my a/c switch on, it turns on, and i presume it comes on at a certain temperature as well. i want this fan to run like it does presently on my camaro, i dont want to bother with hard wires or switches in the ashtray that can catch on fire.... any help would be appreciated. btw my monte carlo ss has a clutch fan (belt driven) stock.

Just curious why you would want to replace the fan in your Monte Carlo with an electric one? I`m not sure about your `86 Camaro but in `88 with dual fans the primary fan is turned on by the ECM (computer).

Re: stock electic fan

the G bodies never had electric fans. I thought i wrote on this already, you did not get the answer you wanted?

lots of parts from f bodies fit on G bodies but i'm not sure about that specific one. I'm pretty sure the camaro rad is smaller, thus the upper support may not fit thus the fan won't.
