bigger radiator or dual fans? hmmm...
I'm having trouble keeping the z cool. have a 350 with about 400hp and 150 shot nos on top of that. single electric fan from perma cool. it is the 16" metal one, supposed to flow a lot of air 2900cfm. In the summer on short trips it is ok cooling. turn fan on at about 190-200 degrees it will just hold the temp stable temp won't go down too much. Get on the throttle a lot and won't keep cool. I have a stock brass 3 core radiator, been cleaned out and gone though. sooo... I was wondering... keep the electric fan i just bought from perma cool, and upgrade to a 2 core 1.25" tube griffen radiator. Or ditch the fan and buy a good dual fan setup. or maybe my fan needs a shroud fabbed up for it? anyone have good luck with any dual aftermarket fan setups. I like the derale, but 50amp draw is alot. any thoughts?
Thanks, Luke

Hi, Topradman here (that's "top radiator man").....Anyway, the fan you picked is a good one with a few exceptions....First, if you choose to keep this fan, I would thread the shaft and use loctite and a fine thread nut to keep the blade on. I do this to all permacool fans I use. (had them come loose before) The next problem is, as you guessed, no shroud. Since the blades are not connected at the ends with a circle like OEM dual fans are, they will not pull alot of air without a shroud. For 400 hp, I would personally install a 2 row aluminum radiator. I have them in stock for 309.00 plus frt. Second, I would run 2, rather than one fan. You may have purchased the 16" fan. If that's the case, 2 of them will be tight. I would replace the radiator with a 2 row aluminum and go back with your oem fan if you still have it. If you don't have the oem and can't build your own shroud, I would run 2 of the new, 12" permacool fans with the ring around the blades. DO NOT MOUNT THESE FANS WITH THE SUPPLIED PUSH THROUGHS!!!! You will tear up the core and they will loosen and could rub holes in the tubes. I build a dual fan, 2 row/3pass radiator assembly for 850.00 which should be about 100.00 cheaper than Becool. Also, if your fan is new, I could take a trade in or use it for one of the 2 that you should have. You may be able to get away with 2 fans and your oem radiator but depends on how much you want to mess with it experimenting. Some have more time, and some have more $$$ If I can help, let me know.
