Automatic vs. Manual Running Temp?
i recently went from a 700r4 to a t10. w/ the auto my car ran cool, now it runs warmer. for ex. with the auto i barley ever had to turn the cooling fan on, now the fan almost always needs to be run even on the hwy. im still using the auto radiator. does this make a diff? please respond. thanks -Art

Re: Automatic vs. Manual Running Temp?
Perhaps the higher RPMs caused by lack of overdrive? Just a guess...
No doubt the engine sees different conditions with a manual behind it as opposed to an auto. For example if you let off the gas with the 700R4 at around-town speeds the RPM will drop to near idle and the car will essentially be coasting. However with the manual you have a lot more engine breaking going on, RPM wont drop on throttle lift....I know when I start manually shifting my 700R4 and really start ******* on it around town keeping the RPM constantly up between 3000 - 4500 the temp will start to climb a bit after just a couple minutes of abuse.
You should NOT need your fan on at highway speeds. Is your air damn in place?
